Polterheist premiere

Gangsters and ghosts descended on The Light Cinema Bradford on Wednesday for the premiere of the locally based film, Polterheist. Cast and crew, many who hail from the city, adorned the red carpet ahead of a sold out screening of the gangster comedy which sees two low level gangsters kill their boss and contact him through a psychic medium to recover stolen loot.

The audience were also treated to a Q+A session after the showing in where Pushpinder Chani spoke of his delight at being able to bring Uday to the screen, a tough no nonsense Asian gangster who is both crass and brutal in equal measure. Sid Akbar Ali also spoke of growing up in the city and how he used his childhood bullies as inspiration for the role of Tariq, one of the two small time gangsters who find themselves in a rush against the clock to recover Uday’s money.
